Chaplet of Divine Mercy

The Chaplet of Divine Mercy
(for recitation on ordinary rosary beads)

 Jesus of Divine Mercy

The pale ray stands for the Water which makes souls righteous. The red ray
stands for the Blood which is the life of souls.

Say the Chaplet at 3 o’clock , if possible.

(1) Make the Sign of the Cross
IN THE NAME of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.Chaplet of Divine Mercy Beads
Amen.

(2) Say the Opening Prayers (optional):
You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out
upon us. (DIARY, 1319).

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You!
(say 3 times)

(3) Say the ” OUR FATHER”:

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

(4) Say the Hail Mary:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among
women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of
God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

(5)  Say the Apostles’ Creed:

I Believe in GOD, the Father almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by
the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate;
was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. The third
day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into Heaven, and is seated
at the right hand of God, the Father almighty. He will come again to judge
the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of
saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

(6) On the “Our Father” bead before each decade, say the “Eternal Father”:

ETERNAL FATHER, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity
of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our
sins and those of the whole world.

(7) On the “Hail Mary” beads of each decade (10 beads), say:

FOR THE SAKE of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the
whole world.

(8) Repeat “Eternal Father” and “For the Sake of His Sorrowful Passion”:
On each of the next four decades, repeat numbers 6 and 7 above.  Say “Eternal Father” on the “Our Father” bead followed by 10 “For the Sake of His Sorrowful Passion” on the “Hail Mary” beads.

(9) After 5 decades, on the medallion, say the concluding doxology:

HOLY GOD, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and
on the whole world. (Repeat 3 times)

(10) CLOSING PRAYER (Optional):

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless, and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible,
look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments, we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy Itself. Amen

In 1935, the Lord revealed to St. Maria Faustina Kowalska a powerful prayer that He wanted everyone to say — the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy. Our Lord promised many extraordinary graces to those who would recite it:

“I remind you, My daughter, that as often as you hear the clock strike the third hour, immerse yourself completely in My mercy, adoring and glorifying it; invoke its omnipotence for the whole world, and particularly for poor sinners; for at that moment mercy was opened wide for every soul. In this hour you can obtain everything for yourself and for others for the asking; it was the hour of grace for the whole world – mercy triumphed over justice.” (Diary, 1572)

“My daughter, try your best to make the Stations of the Cross in this hour, provided that your duties permit it; and if you are not able to make the Stations of the Cross, then at least step into the chapel for a moment and adore, in the Blessed Sacrament, My Heart, which is full of mercy; and should you be unable to step into the chapel, immerse yourself in prayer there where you happen to be, if only for a very brief instant. I claim veneration for My mercy from every creature, but above all from you , since it is to you that I have given the most profound understanding of this mystery.” (Diary, 1572)

“At three o’clock, implore My mercy, especially for poor sinners; and, if only for a brief moment, immerse yourself in My Passion, particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony. This is the hour of great mercy for the whole world. I will allow you to enter into My mortal sorrow. In this hour, I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in virtue of My Passion… ” (Diary, 1320)

“Say unceasingly the Chaplet that I have taught you. Whoever will recite it, they will receive great mercy at the hour of death. Priests will recommend it to sinners as their last hope of salvation. Even if there were a sinner most hardened, if he were to recite this chaplet only once, he would receive grace from My infinite mercy” (diary, 687).

“Oh, what great graces I will grant souls who say this Chaplet; the very depths of My tender mercy are stirred for the sake of those who say the Chaplet. Write down these words my daughter. Speak to the world about my mercy; let all mankind recognize My unfathomable mercy. It is a sign for the end times; after it will come the day of justice. While there is still time, let them have recourse to the fount of My mercy; let them profit from the Blood and Water which gushed forth for them.”
(Diary, 848) .

“It pleases me to grant everything souls ask of me by saying the chaplet. When hardened sinners say it, I will fill their souls with peace, and the hour of their death will be a happy one. Write this for the benefit of distressed souls; when a soul sees and realizes the gravity of its sins, when the whole abyss of the misery into which it immersed itself is displayed before its eyes, let it not despair, but with trust let it throw itself into the arms of My mercy, as a child into the arms of its beloved mother. Tell them no soul that has called upon My mercy has been disappointed or brought to shame. I delight particularly in a soul that has placed its trust in My goodness. Write that when they say this Chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My father and the dying person, not as the Just Judge but as the Merciful Saviour” (Diary, 1541).

Tell [all people] My daughter, that I am Love and Mercy itself. When a soul approaches Me with trust, I fill it with such an abundance of graces that it cannot contain them within itself, but radiates them to other souls. (1074)

Souls who spread the honor of My mercy I shield through their entire lives as a tender mother her infant, and at the hour of death I will not be a Judge for them, but the Merciful Savior. At that last hour, a soul has nothing with which to defend itself except My mercy. Happy is the soul that during its lifetime immersed itself in the Fountain of Mercy, because justice will have no hold on it. (1075)

Write this: Everything that exists is enclosed in the bowels of My mercy, more deeply than an infant in its mother’s womb. How painfully distrust of My goodness wounds Me! Sins of distrust wound Me most painfully. (1076)

Our Lord Jesus Christ appeared to Saint Faustina On Good Friday 1937 and asked her to recite this chaplet for nine days (novena) starting on Good Friday and ending on the Sunday after Easter Sunday, the Divine Mercy Sunday. This Sunday is the Feast of Mercy.

The Chaplet should not only be said during these times but at all times, especially at 3 O’ Clock everyday, if possible.
