39 During those days Mary set out and traveled to the hill country in haste to a town of Judah, 40 where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elisabeth. 41 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, 42 cried out in a loud voice and said, “Most Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.
43 And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
44 For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. 45 Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.”
Mary’s Song [The Magnificat]
And Mary said:
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.
For he has looked upon his handmaid’s lowliness;
behold, from now on all generations shall call me blessed.The Mighty One has done great things for me,
and holy is his name. His mercy is from generation to generation
to those who fear him. He has shown might with his arm,
He has scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart.He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
and has exalted the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.He has helped Israel his servant,
remembering his mercy,
according to his promise to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his descendants forever.
56 Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months and then returned home.
Luke 1:39–56
Mary totally believed what the angel told her. She did not doubt GOD promises to her. In Luke 1:38, Mary said to the angel (Gabriel, GOD’s messenger): 38 “I am the handmaid [servant] of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.”
We are to have faith in GOD like Mary did. We are to trust in GOD’s goodness no matter the circumstances in our lives. So, we must pray and ask GOD to give us faith like that of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who totally believed without questioning GOD.
